Have you ever dreamed of visiting the Shire and stepping into a cozy hobbit hole? Well, now you can make that dream come true at Hobbiton Movie Set, the iconic site of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies in New Zealand.

From 1st of December 2023, all tours of Hobbiton Movie Set will venture beyond the door and into the fully themed interior of a hobbit hole on Bagshot Row. This is the first time that visitors will be able to explore the inside of a hobbit hole and see how the hobbits live.

The hobbit hole is designed to replicate the one seen in the movies, with a fireplace, a kitchen, a dining area, and a bedroom. The furniture, props, and decorations are all authentic and made by the same craftsmen who worked on the films. You will feel like you have stepped into another world as you admire the details and craftsmanship of the hobbit hole.

The hobbit hole tour is an optional add-on to the regular Hobbiton Movie Set tour, which takes you through the lush pastures of the Shire and shows you more than 44 unique hobbit holes, including Bag End (Bilbo’s and Frodo’s house), the Party Tree, and the Green Dragon Inn. You will also get to hear fascinating stories and behind-the-scenes secrets from your friendly and knowledgeable guide.
