When you enter to New Zealand, you have to two things from June that are NZ ETA and Travel Declaration. When border opened last year, all travellers had to do travel declaration before boarding the flight. But it has removed later on. But recently, NZ government has announced that all travellers have to do Travel Declaration.

This declaration will be reintroduced on 21 June 2023.

Then, What is the Travel Declaration?

The New Zealand Traveller Declaration is an online system that travellers will be able to use to complete a declaration before they travel to New Zealand. Travellers will be asked questions about customs, immigration, biosecurity, and health risk assessments as required.

When can I complete a declaration form?

Travellers currently need to fill in a paper Passenger Arrival Card, which is handed out onboard your flight to New Zealand. From 21 June 2023, you will be able to complete an online declaration.

Customs NZ are working with other border agencies, including the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, the Ministry for Primary Industries, and the Ministry of Health, to modernise our border. This will help travellers move through our ports and improve the safety and security of New Zealand.
